REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHRAN -- Continuous consultations between Iranian and Turkish official would help the establishment of peace and security and prevent the spread of terrorism in the region, said Iranian lawmaker Moayyed Hosseini on Friday.
Hosseini, who is the Iranian head of Iran-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group, made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with Turkey's Ambassador to Iran Umit Yardim.
Hosseini refered to abundant historical and cultural commonalities between the two nations as a base for further expansion of friendly relations between Tehran and Ankara.
The Iranian legislator appreciated efforts made by the Turkish ambassador during his tenure in Tehran, calling for further enhancement of bilateral trade.
Meanwhile, the Turkish ambassador urged both Tehran and Ankara to make use of enormous capacities to broaden bilateral relations in different areas, including politics, economy and industry.
Yardim said that promotion of relations with Tehran is a top priority of Turkish government.
