REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Saudi Arabia names Indonesia as the pilot project of e-hajj. The project will kick off in 2015.
"Indonesia becomes the pilot project of e-hajj," Director of Hajj Service Affairs at Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Sri Ilham Lubis said on Tuesday, December 2.
She claimed Saudi Arabia was optimistic that Indonesia could carry out e-hajj in 2015. The e-hajj is an innovative management of hajj and umrah, known as Siskohat or integrated computerized hajj system.
Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin said Siskohat and e-hajj had to be integrated in 2015 to promote transparency in hajj. The move is a part of hajj reformation that includes the enhancement on registration of Hajj Pilgrimage Cost (BPIH) and enhancement of hajj service.
