REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) again distributed thousands of Lebaran packages containing basic necessities to the poor in Solo, Central Java, on Friday.
In the company of First Lady Iriana, Jokowi distributed food packages to the people from six villages in the yard of Graha Saba building on Jalan Letjen Suprapto, some 200 meters from his private residence.
Presidential staff member Devid Agus revealed that the president had this time distributed six thousand Lebaran packages to two thousand people from the villages of Sumber, Manahan, Banyuanyar, Kadipiro, Gilingan, and Nusukan.
Earlier on Thursday, President Jokowi had also handed out similar packages in the Gondangrejo Village, Karanganyar District, in Central Java.
After making a brief stopover at the residence of one of his uncles, the president headed to the Krangan village hall to distribute Lebaran packages and to hold a courtesy gathering with the local community.
On the way to the village hall, President Jokowi used the opportunity to shake hands with numerous bystanders.
President Jokowi also handed out notebooks to children and some money to the elderly.
Some residents clicked pictures of the president using their mobile phone cameras.
The president distributed two thousand food packages containing rice, sugar, cooking oil, and tea to the people of seven hamlets in Kragan Village.
The president and first lady had arrived in Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday afternoon after celebrating Lebaran with the people of Padang City in West Sumatra.
