Saudi to invest in Indonesian cattle breeder

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Saudi Arabia is interested in investing on Indonesian cattle breeder and has sent delegations to observe Indonesian farm, the General Director for animal husbandry at Ministry of Agriculture, Syukur Iwantoro, said on Wednesday. “They choose Kayu Agung in South Sumatera,” he said after working meeting with Commission IV of House of Representatives.

The halal cattle are the main interest for Saudi Arabia to invest in Indonesia. Saudi Arabia, he added, were also studying the development of buffalo, goat, and sheep breeders.

The investment value has not been mentioned, but the investment will create a new employment for the residents. “We will export frozen meat to Saudi Arabia,” he said.
