REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Coordinating Minister of Economy, Hatta Rajasa refuted the restriction on certain vital positions in Indonesian companies, including Chief Executive Officer (CEO. “There is no restriction for CEO. There is no term ‘prohibition’,” he said on Tuesday night.
Yet, his comment is conflicting with the new regulation released by The Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration. Foreigners are indeed banned to sit in such positions as personnel manager, such as personnel director. The Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Muhaimin Iskandar, has issued a ban for foreigners to occupy CEO position in Indonesian company in the Regulation of Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Number 40/12 on certain positions ban for foreigners.
