Indonesia-China sign MoU to strengthen relationship

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIJING - Indonesian and China Government have agreed to cooperate in several sectors marked by the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by official of both countries. The signing is conducted in East Hall of Great Hall of the People on Friday, Nasihin Masha from Republika, reported from Beijing.

Some sectors in the MoU are the cooperation on maritime between both ministers of foreign affairs, cooperation on drugs control between National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the China Ministry of Domestic Security, and cooperation on archives between Indonesian National Archives and China Archives Administration. Both countries also made a cooperation on statistics between Indonesian Statistical Board and China Customs and Excises Administration, and  also cooperation on tourism and maritime.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is in China for state visit from Thursday until Saturday. He is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa, the Minister of Education and Culture M Nuh, the Minister of Industry Gita Wiryawan, the Minister of Maritime and Fisheries Sharif Cicip Sutarjo, the Minister of State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, the Minister of Youth and Sports Andi Mallarangeng, and Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam. There are also the Chairman Committee of National Economy Chairul Tanjung and the Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suryo B Sulisto. In China, the President was also welcomed by Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
