REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Government increases export tax for crude palm oil (CPO) from 7.5 percent to to nine percent started on February 2013.
Acting Head of Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF), Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro, said the increase was due to changes of CPO price in international market. "The export tax is higher because it follows the price," he said on Tuesday.
The average price of CPO in international market is 815.12 USD per tonne, while the previous price was 780.26 USD per tonne. Indonesian Ministry of Trade sets the basic price of CPO per February 2013 in 744 USD per tonne. The price is higher compared to basic price per January 2013, which is 709 USD per tonne.
