REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Presidential Spokesman, Julian Aldrin Pasha, denied the speculation of position switch between Minister of Finance, Agus Martowardojo, and Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Darmin Nasution. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono earlier nominated Martowardojo as a candidate of Governor of BI replacing Nasution.

"It is not right that we switches Martowardojo for Nasution. We have not determined a new name to replace Minister of Finance if Martowardojo is appointed as the Governor of BI," Pasha said on Friday.

He said that government respected the House's test for the candidate of BI governor. The result of the test will determine the next step. Should Martowardojo be elected, the position of minister will be vacant.

"Martowardojo still hold the position until the result of fit and proper test is announced," he said.

Minister Martowardojo said that he believed professional figure would replace his position. The future minister is expected to assist the process of bureaucratic reform within the ministry of finance.
