REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BALIKPAPAN - China invests in building monorail to overcome traffic jam in Balikpapan, Indonesia, through letter of intent (LOI). "Dongying city administration and its private companies are investing in Balikpapan," Mayor of Balikpapan, Heru Bambang, said on Wednesday.
After signing the LOI, Dongying will study the monorail route. "We will help acquiring the land process," he said.
Mayor of Dongying, Zhang Kui, believes the cooperation will benefit to both parties, especially on developing regional economy. "We will soon send a team to study the location. We will also cooperate in other sectors," Zui said tehn added that other sectors were art, culture, education and tourism.
