REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NUSA DUA - Indonesia and China expect to work hand in hand in a research to create clean coal technology that can reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and other greenhouse gases during "Indonesia-China Coal Summit".
"Our energy resources will be dominated by coal, yet it poses a threat to our environment. Hence, it is important to unnovate technology for clean coal," the Head of Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Marzan A Iskandar, said on the sidelines of the summit in Bali on Tuesday.
Iskandar said the technology was important to decrease carbon emission which could inflict human's health and global warming. "Our coal reserves will be for our own need instead of being exported. But we have to add value to our young and low quality coal," he said.
