REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) is listed on Fortune 500 and sits in 122th place, a prestigious place usually targeted by multinational companies in Indonesia.
The achievement has surprised many including Minister of State Owned Enterprises Dahlan Iskan, President Director of Pertamina Karen Agustiawan, and competitor companies. Agustiawan has predicted the ranking would achieved in 2025.
"It means Pertamina can achieve it one decade earlier than previously thought," Agustiawan said last weekend..
Fortune 500 is annual rangking list of world class companies published by Fortune Magazine. Private and state owned companies are assessed based on their performance. The better the management of a company, the higher ranking in Fortune 500. This achievement makes Agustiawan optimistic to climb to top 50 on Fortune 500 list.
