REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned oil and gas company, PT Pertamina through its subsidiary, PT Pertamina EP resumes its drilling activity in West Ketaling well known as KTB-18 in Jambi. Vice President of Corporate Communication in Pertamina, Ali Mundakir said only one of a number of existing wells in KTB-18 that was currently still in production.
"There is a delay on KTB-18 development but it does not mean we leave the drilling locations," Mundakir said on Tuesday.
Pertamina will continue to drill KTB-18 and other potential areas in Jambi this year, including East Ketaling, Sei Gelam, Setiti, Sengeti, Bajubang, Tempino and Kenali Asam with total production of four thousand barrels per day.
Pertamina was forced to delay drilling development wells of KTB-18 after mud flew on July 16, 2013. After successfully coping the problem in two days, Pertamina decided to temporarily close all its oil wells there.
