REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDARLAPUNG -- The volume of Lampung Province's cocoa exports last December was recorded at 2,055 tons worth US$5.5 million, an official said.
"The province's cocoa exports in December were categorically high for a month period," Choiria Pandarita, the head of Lampung's Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service, said here on Tuesday.
She said that farmers' cacao production in the province was now high while the price of the commodity was also relatively high.
The cocoa price at the farmers' level is about Rp19,000 per kg while at the collector agents' level is Rp24,000 per kg.
Cocoa is one of the Lampung's mainstay export commodity besides coffee, pepper, rubber and crude palm oil.
