REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia's largest taxi service provider, Blue Bird Group, plans to add 10 thousand taxis next year as part of company's rejuvenation every five years. Blue Bird now adds 500 units of Nissan Almera to its new fleet.

Deputy Director Blue Bird Group, Andre Djokosoetono said that Nissan Almera would only operate in Jakarta. Nissan Almera is expected to be new choice for Blue Bird consumers. Company previously relied on Toyota Limo.

"We plans to add 10 thousand taxis until next year. Based on data, the demand on  taxi service is still very high and we cannot fulfill them," Djokosoetono said recently.

He said that company was still trying to keep explore other type of brands beside Toyota and Nissan. This year, Blue Bird also plans to expand to several cities by adding three to five new branch offices in Java and outside Java.

Djokosoetono said that at first company must consider it costumers and their demands. These new branches will add to 13 existing branches of Blue Bird.
