REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia and PT Pos Indonesia agreed on cooperation to widen public access to banking services especially for money deposit and bill payment. The signing was conducted between Director of Finance and Operation in Muamalat, Hendiarto and President Director of Pos Indonesia, Budi Setiawan on Wednesday.

Hendiarto explained that customers of Bank Muamalat could use Pos Indonesia's outlets and offices to deposit cash into their saving accounts and current accounts. Customers also get a virtual account to facilitate bill payment using various delivery channels.

"We will also install a number of ATMs in several Pos Indonesia offices which connected electronically with Muamalat IT system in real time online," Hendiarto said on Wednesday.

This cooperation is expected to increase customer transactions to improve Mualamat's third party funds. Cooperation between Muamalat and Pos Indonesia was started 10 years ago.

"Unlike the previous years, new regulation doesn't allow us to facilitate customer to open new bank account -the job is provided only by Bank Muamalat. But we provide wider access for customers," Setiawan said.
