Govt and KPK investigate troubled flight permit

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Transportation works with Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to investigate troubled flight permits. The ministry stated that about 100 flight permits needed to be restored.

"We have 100 to 130 troubled flight permits. It is all related to flight safety," Special Staff at the Ministry of Transportation, Hadi Mustofa Djuraid, said on Wednesday, January 7.

The ministry also cooperates with police to conduct investigation and audit in airport authority and operator. "We are widely open the investigation to find suspects and maybe route trade," he said.

Djuraid said that the problem caused Indonesian aviation only sat in the second of Federal Aviation Administration. The position disables Indonesian airlines to enter US and Europe.
