REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) in the first half 2015 recorded the net profit of the current year (net income year-to-date) amounted to 29.3 million dollars, or around Rp 390 billion. This acquisition increased by 114.5 percent over the same period last year. At that time, Garuda was loss 201.3 million US dollars.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia Arif Wibowo explained, the increase in performance of the company in the midst of a sluggish economy could be achieved thanks to the implementation of the company's business development strategy named "Quick Wins", as well as internal efficiency efforts.
"In addition, the company also managed to increase the market share of the domestic market and international. The domestic market, our market share is 44 percent. The international market is 28 percent," said Arif on Wednesday, July 29.
Garuda Indonesia also recorded the operating revenue of 1.84 billion US dollars, an increase of 4.7 percent compared to last year amounted to 1.76 billion US dollars. Moreover, the operating expenses reduced by 11.6 percent, from 1.99 billion US dollars last year to 1.76 billion US dollars on this year.
In terms of passenger transport, Garuda Indonesia successfully transported 15.9 million passengers in the first half of 2015. This number increased by 19.5 percent compared to last year amounted to 13.3 million passengers. In addition, the passenger load factor or seat load factor recorded also jumped to 75.8 percent from last year only 69 percent.
