REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni has accepted the fact that based on quick count result they got the least vote in Jakarta gubernatorial election. Meanwhile, the other two pairs candidates, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok)-Djarot Saiful Hidayat and Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno, have secured their tickets to the second round of the election.
Although the official result was not ready to be published until the end of February, politician Fahira Idris already sets new move to prepare for the next round. "It is time for us, the Jakarta residents, to show that we were most entitled to determine the face of this city, not the elites and factions," Fahira said.
Fahira who has given her best support to Agus-Sylvi invited supporters of candidate number one to elect Anies-Sandi in the second round of the race. She said Anies-Sandi have similar vision, mission and value. "I urged all supporters AHY-Sylvi to unite and re-gather the power to win Anies-Sandi in second round," the member of Regional Representative Council (DPD) from Jakarta said on Thursday.
Fahira believed if Agus-Sylvi supporters were solid, the hope to have a better leader for Jakarta could be realized. She said Anies-Sandi and Agus-Sylvi were much alike. "We rejected eviction and reclamation. We both fight to eradicate alcohol and we have a commitment to embrace all Jakarta residents and respected the clerics," she said.
