REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The National Police`s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) named five suspects in an alleged corruption case in the procurement of driving simulators by the Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas). The five suspects are Brig. Gen. Didik Purnomo (DP), Adjunct Senior Commissioner TR, Commissioner LG and two winners of the procurement project tender, namely Sukodjo S Bambang (SB) and Budi Susanto (BS).
"The five suspects will be detained in connection with their involvement in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of driving simulators for two and four wheel vehicles," National Police Spokesman Brig. Gen Anang Iskandar said on Thursday.
The five suspects are charged with articles on corruption case where three police officers acted as treasures, auction chairman and issuer of commitment documents. "After conducting an investigation, police have the obligation to name suspects," Iskandar said.
Earlier, Inspector General DS, former chief of the Korlantas, has also been named a suspect. He is now chief of the Police Academy. On Wednesday the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it had named three new suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of driving simulators by the Traffic Police Corps in 2011.
"We have decided (to name) the suspects, namely DS and friends," KPK Deputy Chairman Bambang Widjojanto said, refered to inspector general DS (Djoko Susilo), former chief of the Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas). Bambang also said that an investigation letter (sprindik) had been issued on July 27 for the investigation of the project, worth 198.7 billion IDR.
