REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN - Provincial government of North Sumatra detained six Myanmar people and one Pakistani who entered Indonesian territory without official documents and passports. They were secured at Detention House of Tanjung Balai in Medan, North Sumatra.
Public Relations Officer at Department of Justice and Human Rights in Medan, Hasran Safawi said the six Myanmar citizens were Abu Dasyad (23 years), Muhud (28 years), Syaiful Rahman (17 years), Salailah (15 years), Tito (20 years) and M Jarohman (16 years), while a Pakistani named Rafiq (35 years). "The seven foreigners were found while they were at Asahan village at Tanjung Balai district," he said on Tuesday.
Tanjung Balai district and Asahan regency were two areas that have often been entered by illegal immigrants from various countries, due to its geographical position within easy to reach and bordered to Malaysia. The seven foreigners fled from their conflict-affected countries.
