REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,  CHONGQING - Governor of West Java, Ahmad Heryawan explored the possibility to use Chinese monorail as an alternative transportation in Greater Bandung, West Java. He also tried to ride the monorail made by Chongqing on Friday.

"This is an assessment to start cooperation with state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in China. We have preliminary talks to build it for Greater Bandung region," Heryawan said as reported by Rahmat Santosa Basarah from Republika.

Heryawan came to Chongqing at the invitation of Chinese SOEs. As a crowded city,  Greater Bandung may need some alternatives to solve its problem. Using monorail is considered more practical than building the toll road or railway. Governor and his entourage also visited the location of the manufacturing plant monorail Changchun Railway Vehicles (CNR) and the Research Institute of Chongqing Monorail (Chongqing Rail Transit Design and Research Institute).
