REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Tangerang City, Banten, will be operated starting July 2016.
Head of Tangerang Transportation Department Engkos Zarkasyi said, his agency still waiting for the winner of auction BRT's operator.
"There is already winner of the auction is DAMRI, but it's still no objection period. Later, if there are other corporate, it means DAMRI will be the operator," he told to Republika.co.id, Friday (27/5).
He said routes and bus stops are ready to use. Therefore, Engkos optimistic the BRT can begin to operate in July as planned.
He explained, 10 units of BRT will operate on the path along the seven kilometers of Terminal of Poris Plawad to Jatiuwung. Unlike Transjabodetabek, BRT is only serving in city of Tangerang. The route is Terminal of Poris Plawad-Daan Mogot street-Gatot Subroto road- Ganda Sari street-Jatiuwung.
