REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- North Sulawesi has exported hundred tons of coconut flour to three countries in the past week to earn US$ 385,006 in foreign exchange.
"The exports went to Brazil, Belgium and Germany," head of overseas trade of the province's trade and industry service, T Hasudungan Siregar, said here on Sunday.
The export volume of the coconut flour reaching 155 tons to contribute US$285,006 in foreign exchange earnings to the region was a positive trend, he said, adding the quality of the product from the region has now been increasingly acknowledged.
"The process of production has been done according to international standards," he said.
Besides European countries some of the commodity have also been exported to Asia, American and African countries, he said.
"Coconut flour is used much as a raw material for making bread and other kinds of food," he said.
