REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo plans to send his ministers to other countries to follow up cooperation. Earlier, President Jokowi visited international events, including Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, ASEAN Summit, and G-20. Many countries offered him partnerships in several sectors during bilateral talks on the sidelines of those international summits.
"We have to catch the opportunities. We have to follow up," Jokowi said on Sunday, November 16. "I will send a minister to China, for example, to follow up on maritime cooperation," he explained.
President Jokowi stated that Indonesia had to finish several matters on infrastructure and economics. By attending international events, he said, government could understand the course of global economics. However, he admitted that Indonesia must precede national interest.
