REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Interior Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo plans to control local retribution by eliminating some taxes. In this scheme, fishers may be exempt from tax.
"We will eliminate unnecessary retribution, such as for bicycle, television, radio, fishers, traditional market sellers and others," Kumolo said on Wednesday, December 17.
Such retribution is considered burdening them. For instance, a fisher usually must pay retribution before going fishing. Should they sell their fish in fish market (TPI), they must pay another retribution.
He said that government could boost local income from other sectors. He exampled, local income could be obtained from those who took the advantage from natural resources. The minister will levy such policy soon. Kumolo expects every region will impose such policy by 2015.
