REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- The Makassar city administration said it will clean a red light district in the city to be developed into a commercial center.

"We will change the bad image of Jalan Nusantara into one to become the pride of the city," city Deputy Mayor Syamsu Rizal said here on Tuesday (30/12).

Syamsu said he city administration had discussed the plan with the regional legislative assembly and the operators of night entertainment centers.

The place will be rebuilt into a handy craft center, culinary center and city garden, he said.

"We will offer the concept to investors," he added.
