REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANILA -- Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has invited Philippine business players to participate in the World Economic Forum on East Asia (WEF-EA) in Bali, in April 2015.
"We would like to invite the business players here to participate in WEF-EA 2015 in Bali in April," President Jokowi remarked during a bilateral meeting with his Philippine counterpart Benigno Aquino III at the Malacanang Palace, on Monday night.
Besides inviting the Philippine business players to participate in the WEF-EA in Bali, Jokowi has also invited President Aquino to attend the 60th Asian-African Conference in April 2015 in Jakarta and Bandung.
The Indonesian head of state revealed that during the meeting with Aquino, they discussed bilateral issues related to border areas, cooperation in politics, law, and security; protection of Indonesian nationals in the Philippines; and cooperation in economy, education and inter-community relations.
President Jokowi in the company of First Lady Iriana and his entourage were received by President Benigno Aquino III and his wife at the Malacanang Palace, at 4 p.m. local time, on Monday.
President Jokowi's entourage comprised Chief Economic Minister Sofyan Djalil, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Education Minister Anis Baswedan, Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri, Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel, Head of the National Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI) Nusron Wahid, Governor of the National Defense Institute Budi Susilo S., and Chief of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency Anang Iskandar.
