Hackers attacks in Indonesia cause loss of Rp 33,29 billion

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- Hackers attacks to Indonesian networks for three years, until August 2015, has caused state loss of Rp 33.29 billion.

“In three years, there were 36.6 million criminal attacks in Indonesian network. The total loss reached Rp 33.29 billion,” said Deputy Director of Director of Economic Crime of Criminal Investigation Agency, Commissioner General Agung Setya in Jakarta, Tuesday (25/8).

The data of "Security Threat 2013" also stated that Indonesia was still relatively vulnerable to be attacked by hackers.

From 2012 until April 2015, Sub Directorate Cyber Crime of Criminal Investigation Agency arrested 497 people as suspects of crime in cyberspace. 389 of them were foreigners and other 108 were Indonesian.

"Crime in cyberspace continues to increase along with the increasing number of internet users in Indonesia," he said.
