REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU -- Central Sulawesi's Immigration Office in Palu on Thursday deported five problematic Chinese nationals to their country of origin.
"We have to deport them because they have violated the immigration law," local Immigration Office spokesman Tantawi stated here on Thursday.
According to Tantawi, the five Chinese nationals, identified as Shu Chang, Chen Yong, Goo Chaogin, Chen Dailong, and Chen Jian, were arrested by immigration officials on August 24, 2015, at the site of the Poboya gold mine.
Tantawi explained that the five Chinese nationals were flown in from Palu at 7 a.m. local time on Thursday to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta where they will board a connecting flight to their country of origin.
He remarked that although the Chinese nationals only possessed copies of their passports and tourist visas, they had worked at the gold mining site in Palu.
