REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- Facing the era of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Indonesian Government planned to deregulate a number of regulations. Ministry of Industry, Saleh Husin, said that his Ministry would make deregulation of 14 minister regulations and draft regulations to improve business climate in this country.

"Currently, ministries are discussing deregulation to cut several regulations that can hamper the implementation of AEC," he said during seminar on "Opportunities and Challange in Facing AEC," Saturday (26/9).

The AEC, according to Saleh Husin, aimed to create ASEAN as a single market production based. There would be free flow of goods, services, factors of production, investment and capital, and the elimination of tariffs for trade among ASEAN countries.

"Indonesia is able to improve as exporting country," he added.

Saleh also warned, MEA would be a challenge for a very large population of Indonesia. Indonesia would become a market destination for ASEAN products.

"MEA also provides a tremendous opportunity for job seekers," Saleh said.

From the aspect of employment, there will be many jobs vacancy available with various needs and diverse expertise. Access to foreign countries in order to find the job vacancies will be easier.

MEA also can be a good opportunity for entrepreneurs to find the best workers. The minister explained, data in 2014 stated that there were 3,505,064 SMEs (small and medium industries) which can provide employment for 8,412,746 people
