REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDAR LAMPUNG -- PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) was ready to build 2,025 units of household connections of gas pipeline in Lampung, in 2016. PGN would also distribute their gas to micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
"Next year, the consumers just need to open the faucet just to get the gas," said Commercial Director of PT PGN, Jobi Triananda, in Lampung provincial government, Tuesday (27/10).
According to him, to distribute the gas, PGN needs local government support, so that the program could be running smoothly and safely. Moreover, next year, PGN prepared gas pipelines for household consumers as many as 2,025 units and distribute it to SMEs.
He said the conversion of fuel oil to fuel gas, also needs support of the provincial government and district/city government, in transport sector.
"The advantages of fuel gas, in addition to cheap and efficient, it is also safer because the gas is lighter than the air, so it is not flammable," he explained.
Lampung Governor, M Ridho Ficardo, said Lampung provincial government has been preparing a land for construction of electricity, gas, railway infrastructure around Bakauheni - Terbanggi Besar Highway.
"Land acquisition for construction of normal toll roads is 60 square meters. However, the Lampung provincial government set up a land of 120 square meters. It is prepared for the development of infrastructure of electricity, gas and railways," he added.
Ridho said Lampung provincial government was currently building an industrial area in the Register 1. It was expected that PGN programs could support the industrial area.
Currently, PT PGN was conducting natural gas pipeline from Labuhan Maringgai, East Lampung up to Panjang, Bandar Lampung. Additionally, PGN was being pioneered the fuel oil conversion to fuel gas program in Lampung.
