REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ANTALYA -- President Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of investment strategy for the industry, so that a country does not have a dependency on exports of raw materials. According to him, commodity exports should begin to be converted into investment in the production sector.
"Goods that are exported, at least in half finished," said the President, after attending the Working Session I of G20 Summit in Atalya, Turkey, Sunday (15/11).
Therefore, the President explained, direction of development strategy of the country should be clear, including investment strategies and employment strategies. He pointed out, in investment strategy, there should be stated what should be pursued.
"Obviously the main thing is investment in infrastructure," he added.
He argued, investment in infrastructure is very important because it gives a lot of impact. It would create jobs during the construction of infrastructure and caused faster mobility of services, goods and people.
"transport would be cheaper, distribution logistics would be cheaper, and finally the prices of goods would also be cheaper," he continued.
Another investment was investment-intensive, because 60 percent of the unemployed amounted to 7.5 million people, were graduated from elementary school, junior high school, and vocational school.
