REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice president of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) argued that various student organisations should not only eager to tackle a range of political issues. But, they must contribute to overcome the problems of the state.
"Students should have spirit to overcome the problems in our country. Don't only excited to discuss about political situation," JK said when open the 29th and 28th MPA Catholic Student Association of the Republic of Indonesia (PMKRI) at the Vice Presidential Palace, Monday (25/1).
According to him, many student organisations were also expected not to see the state in perpetual crisis condition. JK realized in a number of trip point of Indonesia, such as in 1966, 1974, and 1966, there were a major crisis.
"The role of students is needed as a motor for change in the nation's moral movement," JK added.
However, the situation of our country has changed. He said, we should see more clearly and prepare the student in developing technology and science, in order to develop the nation.
