REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned construction company PT Waskita Karya said denied Ombudsman's allegation saying there was maladministration (administrative error) in infrastructure development projects. Waskita said they have been running a good administration and supervision process in every projects.

"The administration and supervision have done well by our company, said head of Division III PT Waskita Karya, Dono Parwoto in press conference on Tuesday (Feb 20).

Nevertheless, Dono said PT Waskita Karya will continue to conduct investigation and re-check the administrative process. He claimed the company has also worked under the monitoring of supervision consultant.

"We are not working alone. We are not a sole contractor," Dono added.

Dono asserted in every project, the contractor always supervise the project. The statement made by PT Waskita Karya following the incident occured on Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) toll road near Kebon Nanas toll gates in East Jakarta.

PT Waskita has clarified the incident. Previously, a number of mass media said a girder pole has collapsed at 3.00 am. Seven workers injured by the incident.

However, PT Waskita Karya said it was not girder pole that collapsed, but the formwork for a pier head. Waskita has also coordinated with the authorities to handle the case.

PT Waskita Karya said the incident was still being investigated internally, and also by the police to obtain data and information. The company targeted to have the temporary result within 24 hours.
