From Tanah Karo to Manado, Indonesia whacked by disaster. Starting with the eruption of Mount Sinabung in Tanah Karo , North Sumatra, the eruption of Mount Marapi in West Sumatra, floods hit Jakarta and along the north coast of Java, Mount Raung eruption in East Java to flash floods in Manado, North Sulawesi. Connected one by one!
Causes of flooding cannot be separated from the practice of corruption from upstream to downstream. Causes of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes are natural event, not corruption. But, handling, prevention of loss of life and the provision of assistance to victims during disasters are not free from corruption.
Corruption according to the broader definition is not just a matter of bribery or "stealing" state money. It is much broader than that. The discourse of spiritual, theological, intellectual and moral about corruption formulated that corruption is an act of sanctity or deviation from an ideal.
Thus, corruption included the abuse of authority of official legislative, executive and judicial branches of government to private interests, groups, and for each political party to the destruction of the environment, including illegal deforestation (illegal logging), conversion of forest land into agricultural fields, plantations, settlements, and tourist facilities in the upstream areas.
Corruption knows no SARA (ethnic, sectarian, racial and religious), gender, profession, location and age. All religions forbid adherents of corruption, but proved, corruptor are the ones who diligently worship in mosques, churches and temples. Corruption has been successfully regenerated and succession, because the perpetrator even younger on ages. Corruption takes place from upstream (top position), middle and downstream, in the center and the regions.
