REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANGUPURA -- State-owned Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) plans various activities to promote the Nusa Duna tourism resort of Bali throughout this year. There would be 12 activities included in the "Calendar of Events of The Nusa Dua 2018".

"The activities are to increase the public awareness of the tourism The Nusa Dua or Pulau Peninsula icon and promote The Nusa Dua sebagai as an 'event destination' in Indonesia," Managing Director of The Nusa Dua, I Wayan Karioka, said here on Monday.

Activities in calendar of 'event' 2018 are of national and international scale, which raise theme related to cultures, music, sports, culinary and nature, he said. A number of programs listed in the Calendar of Events of The Nusa Dua 2018 include "Sundown Dancing Lesson", a Bali dance class outdoor while enjoying the sun set beauty on the Pulau Peninsula Nusa Dua held every Sunday; and welcoming party of Chinese New Year with the theme of "Sincia with Love" which is a festival celebrating the new year presenting a concept of unifying Balinse culture and and Chinese oriental culture reflecting love, he said.

"On 23-24 March we also hold Food Festival to present foods to meet changing appetite and life style of holidaying people. In May and June we will hold the routine agenda of 'Bali Blues Festival' that will present local and national blues musics to be followed with 'Nusa Dua Light Festival' which had proved to be a strong attraction in previous shows," he added.

He said ITDC would also utilize the momentum of World Cup Finals 2018 to attract more tourists by organizing watching together the finals in wide screen.

On 23 September there would be "Badung International Night Run" with finish in just before sun rise in Pulau Peninsula.

In welcoming the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in October, the ITDC would organze "IMF Side Event". In the same month there would be "Art Bali" to present various unique cultural works.

"Still in October, we will organize an international cultural master piece , an international show of "World or Music, Art and Dance (WOMAD)" which is an art and cultural festival involving artist from various countries," Wayan Karioka said.

"Wonderful Nusa Dua Fiesta" , which has been held with success in drawing thousands of people, would be held with various activities. Toward the year end there would be "New Year's Eve Party" highlighted with various attractions," he said.

The series of events would be presented ad additional attractions for tourists staying at Nusa Dua, Wayan Karioka said

"By announcing the calendar of annual events, we hope more tourists would plan to visits Bali especially Nusa Dua this year," he said.
