REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla has remarked that Manado, capital of North Sulawesi Province, could be the next Bali. Kalla stated that while delivering a speech at the Assembly of the Synod Council of the Evangelical Christian Church in Minahasa (GMIM).

"North Sulawesi is famous for its natural resources, such as copra, cloves, and fisheries, but now there is a new product sought by tourists from many countries, namely the good atmosphere," Kalla revealed here on Monday.

The vice president remarked that there must be at least five principles required for the progress of the tourism sector.

"These principles include security, comfort, cleanliness, beauty, and hospitality. If this is fulfilled, then Manado will become the second Bali," he noted.

The church can help in creating awareness among the public on how to maintain cleanliness, hospitality, and make Bunaken National Park more beautiful.

"That is how we connect between religion and worldly life," he stated.

The world and the hereafter cannot be separated, because we are in the world, and good deeds will be brought to the hereafter.

This is a universal religious teaching, because all religions teach mutual respect, and no one teaches badness.

"We as human must live in peace and show kindness based on our religious teachings. This will result in the progress of the people," he added.
