REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Selection Committee Team (Pansel) of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s leader’s candidates has officially announced KPK's leader’s candidates. Constitutional law observers from the University of Parahyangan, Warlan Asep Yusuf, said the public could provide input assessment of KPK's leader’s candidates in aspects of capacity and integrity.
"(Evaluation) of public is usually there are aspect of capacity and integrity. It can be criticized," said Asep, on Sunday, July 5.
Nevertheless, the main and the most important assessment to select the decent candidates was the assessment of the team itself. According to Asep, selection team has a strong commitment in selecting candidates for the leadership of the anti-corruption agency.
He also reminded that the team also to be more cautious and more careful in selecting candidates of KPK leaders. Including by ensuring the candidates have a track record and ethics record which were good and clean.
This, he continued, was very important for KPK's leader’s candidates in order to avoid further criminalization action. "Their track record should be good and clean. Just defects ethics is dangerous and can have problems with the law. Because there are no protection laws for them," said Asep.
As is known, Selection Committee Team of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s leader’s candidates have officially announced194 names that passed the first stage. The number later will follow the second phase on the next July 8.
Team Leader of Selection Committee Team, Destry Damayanti, explained that the name that passed the first stage was decided by the plenary meeting. In addition, Destry asserted, the team did not see the organizations background that allows registering as KPK's leaders candidates in the selection process.
