REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo carried out the groundbreaking for the construction of Bank Indonesia's office complex to a solar power plant (PLTS) in the capital of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, on Thursday (2/11/2023). Jokowi began his work visit at IKN on the third day by visiting the construction site of the President's Office.
From where he spent the night at IKN, Jokowi arrived at the construction site of the President's Office around 7:05 am. He reviewed the progress of the construction of the Office of the President, which had installed the first bar of Garuda.
In addition, Jokowi also reviewed a number of IKI development projects from the top of the Presidential Office building. After laying the first stone of the Bank Indonesia office complex and IKN PLTS, Jokowi is scheduled to attend the Kompas 100 CEO Forum event in IKN area.
President Jokowi during his visit was accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment ad interim Erick Thohir, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, and Deputy Head of IKN Authority Dhony Rahajoe.
Investment in IKN
President Joko Widodo said that the government will prioritize domestic investors to enter the capital of the archipelago (IKN). According to him, only if there is no interest from local investors, the government will look for investors from abroad who are interested in investing in IKN.
“I told the Head of the Authority that the first priority is for domestic investors, but if they come and there are no more, we will make a move from outside,” Jokowi said during the groundbreaking of a number of infrastructures at IKN on Wednesday (1/11/2023).
