Seven State-Owned Enterprises to be Dissolved?
PPA has examined a number of state-owned enterprises that are in 'sick' condition.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) under the leadership of Erick Thohir will make a big splash in visitors this year by disbanding a number of state-owned enterprises. Erick himself has from the beginning commissioned a member of Danareksa holding, PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA) to examine a number of state-owned enterprises that are in a 'sick' condition.
PPA as part of Danareksa SOE Holding was given a mandate to play an active manager role over a number of SOEs. It is planned that the Ministry of state-owned enterprises and PPA will announce the list of dissolved SOEs.
“Based on the results of the study and all the efforts that have been made, it was concluded that there are seven SOEs that will be dissolved,” wrote the invitation to a press conference PPA received Republika.co.id in Jakarta, Friday (29/12/2023).
From the beginning, Erick committed to streamlining the number of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), which is currently 41 from 108 SOEs. Erick wants to keep reducing the number of state-owned enterprises until there are 30 state-owned enterprises left.
The dissolution of a number of state-owned enterprises was also submitted by Erick in March. At that time, the former Inter Milan president dissolved three state-owned enterprises, namely PT Industri Gelas (Persero) or Iglas, PT Kertas Kraft Aceh (Persero) or KKA, and PT Industri Sandang Nusantara (Persero).
Erick said there are still four other state-owned enterprises that will be dissolved, namely PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines (Persero), PT Istaka Karya (Persero), PT Pengembangan Armada Niaga Nasional (Persero) or PANN and PT Kertas Leces (Persero).
“We are reviewing several other companies in Danareksa and PPA, out of 7 state-owned enterprises, 3 SOEs have been completed, there are 4 SOEs that are still in process,” Erick said at the Ministry of BUMN office, Jakarta, Thursday (17/3/2023).
Erick said PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines and PT Istaka Karya are undergoing the homologation process, while PANN and Kertas Leces have yet to complete the administrative process and will follow three state-owned enterprises that have been dissolved.
Erick said the dissolution of the three state-owned enterprises was because they had long been out of operation. Erick judged the conditions to be very unfavorable, for the company, employees, and the country.
“It is impossible that the company has ceased operations, let alone there is no certainty for its employees, this is also not good. If (the company) does not enter into a grouping or part of the model business that we are consolidating, we are very open to companies like this for us to dissolve,” Erick said.
