President Prabowo Insists That All State Budgets Should be in the Interests of the People

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Prabowo Subianto stressed that the entire state budget is financed by the people, so it should be aimed at the interests of the Indonesian people.

This was stated by Prabowo in his direction at the 2024 National Coordination Meeting of Central and Local Governments at Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Sentul, West Java, on Thursday.

“The president stressed very well that the entire state budget should be immediately perceived as aimed at the interests of the people,” Deputy Interior Minister Bima Arya said after attending the event in Sentul, Bogor, West Java, on Thursday.

According to Bima Arya, the Head of State on that occasion focused his direction more on the efficiency of state money.

“So, the president said that we (the government) are all financed by the people's money. Let's not let then the people's money not be on target,” he explained.

He said that the Ministry of Interior in this regard tried to facilitate the event of the Regional and Central Government Rakornas, in order to bring together the President with all decision-makers.

In his direction, RI President Prabowo Subianto said the holding of the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central Government and Local Governments 2024 is a strategic step to bring together decision-makers and policy makers from the central to the regional level.

“I think it's a very rewarding, very strategic moment. But this is also something that may be rare, we do, where almost all decision-makers from all levels determine the direction of the nation's life for the next few years,” the President said opening Rakornas at SICC, Bogor, West Java, on Thursday.

The Head of State appreciated the initiative of the Ministry of Interior led by Tito Karnavian for organizing a forum involving participants of more than 5,000 of those people.
