REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MOJOKERTO -- The Government of Mojokerto Regency in East Java Province supports the development efforts of boarding houses in its territory, including improvements in the management and organization of learning in boarding houses.
In the socialization of the development of the boarding school attended by 270 boarding school administrators in Mojokerto Regency on Wednesday, Mojokerto Mayor Ikfina Fahmawati said that the boarding house is expected to forge the santri into a person who is good natured and independent.
“Boarding school education is expected to forge the santri into an independent person, develop a spirit of togetherness that includes helpful attitude and brotherhood of fellow students,” he said during a socialization event that took place at Pondok Pesantren Al-Amin, Jampirogo Village, Sooko District.
The Regent requested that the boarders of the boarding school educate the students well and fulfill their rights as children.
“I ask for help that it can really be done well. Later in the future, maybe we will come down, how do we make sure that the boarding school really has fulfilled the rights of children,” he said.
In addition, the Regent asked boarding school administrators to play an active role in fostering efforts to prevent bullying and acts of violence, including sexual violence, in the educational environment.
“This needs to be prevented, that the deed should not be passed on and must stop,” he said.
