REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) won overwhelmingly in the Legislative Elections (Legislative Elections) of Parliament in Bali Province. Nevertheless, the PDIP-led vice presidential partner, Ganjar-Mahfud, turned out to lose in the Island of the Gods.

The votes won by PDIP and Ganjar-Mahfud became known after the KPU determined the results of the 2024 Bali Provincial Election in the national vote counting recapitulation meeting held at the KPU RI Office, Central Jakarta, Sunday (10/3/2024).

The PDIP and its nine candidates in total won 1,290,884 votes. The party led by Megawati Soekarnoputri was almost four times ahead of the second largest vote-getter, the Golkar Party, which received 333,521 votes.

With such a large vote, PDIP will win five seats of DPR out of a total of nine seats contested in Bali's Electoral Districts (Electoral Districts). The other four seats were won one each by the Golkar, Gerindra, Democrat, and Nasdem parties.

The gain of the seat became known after the Republika converted the PDIP vote total into seat gains using the Sainte Lague method, the official formula provided for in the Electoral Law.

However, when PDIP dominated the 2024 election in Bali, Ganjar-Mahfud instead lost. The number 3 pair won 1,127,134 votes or 42.04 percent of the total valid votes.
