REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Bandung--One of the worship charities recommended for doing during Ramadan is to increase the reading of the Quran especially in the last 10 days of Ramadan in an effort to achieve lailatul qadar. Even Muslims are encouraged to recite the Quran as much as possible in this blessed month, as exemplified by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah), his companions and previous scholars.

Reading the Qur'an and reciting it is not afdhal if one does not know the content of the Qur'an itself. According to Quran interpreters, Prof. Quraish Shihab in his book “Shihab & Shihab Ramadan Edition” explains in outline the scholars say that there are three contents in the Quran itself: aqidah, sharia and morality.

Prof Quraish said the presence of the Koran was an attempt to lead people to believe in God as God, prophets, angels, doomsday and destiny. Some Surahs in the Quran, contain this.

The Quran also contains sharia like the laws of everyday life. This scripture provides guidelines on how to perform marriage, prayer, fasting, and paying zakat. Then the other content of the Qur'an is morality.

Prof Quraish said morality would adorn humans. The Qur'an also provides guidelines for cheaply forgiving the wrongs of others. Therefore, says Prof. Quraish, it is through the Quran that people are expected to have noble morals.

Former UIN rector Syarif Hidayatullah revealed that there are four ways to achieve the task of the content of the Quran. First, for people to pay attention to nature. Because it is impossible that this universe does not have a creator.

Second, man to pay attention to himself. Because according to Prof. Quraish, man is an extraordinary creature among other creatures. The human preponderance is reason so it must actually use reason well.

Third, to achieve the goal of the three pillars of the Qur'an, which is to pay attention to history. The history in question is learning from the impact caused by each charity of deeds. For example, contemplating the evils done results in the birth of a negative impact. And the fourth way is to give threats and good promises.

Prof. Quraish encourages that while reading or reciting the Quran, one also understands its meaning. According to him it is important as a guideline in everyday life.
