REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PASURUAN -- Flooding occurred in Pasuruan Regency on Thursday (11/4/2024). As a result of the disaster, a resident in the Pohjentrek district. The head of the Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center of the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), Abdul Muhari, said there are several districts in Pasuruan affected by the flood disaster. In addition to Pohjentrek, there are Gondang Wetan, Bangil, Rembang, Beji and Rejoso.
“BNPB urges local authorities and residents to always be alert to the surrounding conditions as well as during homecoming or return activities, such as bad weather conditions affecting road or sea travel,” Muhari said on Friday (12/4/2024).
Muhari explained that the weather forecast in the East Java region still has a chance of high intensity rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds for up to two days.
Still in East Java province, a landslide occurred in Munungan Subdistrict, Trenggalek Regency, East Java Province, on Thursday morning (11/4). The incident, which took place around 2:30pm, closed the village road.
BNPB according to Muhari monitoring this incident was in Hamlet Parang RT32, RW 06, Bangun Village. Avalanche material = that was on the road section had cut off local road access. But quickly the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Trenggalek Regency together with the military, police, village units and residents carried out devotional work to clean the landslide material.
“A few hours later, precisely at 9:00pm, the landslide material was successfully cleared. Residents can re-access village roads,” Muhari said. The landslide disaster in Trenggalek resulted in no fatalities or injuries.
