REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Central Leadership Tabligh Assembly (PP) of Muhammadiyah organized national consolidation. The event, which was attended by 34 representatives of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership Council (PWM) throughout Indonesia, also featured the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Al Shun.
According to Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of Tabligh PP Muhammadiyah Ustaz Adi Hidayat, the Brotherhood needs to draw up and explore synergy patterns in order to further strengthen support for the Palestinians. One of the ways, the young man continued, is to develop interactive dialogues, both at home and abroad.
“We are presenting more positive and contributory dialogues to what we can synergize from Muhammadiyah, in particular the Tabligh Assembly, in the context of supporting Palestine. One of them is the consolidation of campaign activities in support of an independent Palestine,” said a spokesman familiar to UAH in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (23/7/2024).
On this occasion, the Muhammadiyah PP also conveyed its love to the Palestinian people. The donation worth Rp 2 billion was handed over symbolically to Ambassador Zuhair Al Shun. The funds come from UAH's friends, citizens of the United States, Indonesians, and sympathizers.
In his presentation, Zuhair Al Shun appreciated the efforts made by Muhammadiyah to continue supporting the struggle for an Independent Palestine. According to him, the Earth of al-Quds will always be in the hearts of Muslims. Because, it was there that the Al-Aqsa Mosque was the first mecca of Muslims. History records that the land was also the birthplace of the Prophet Isa as well as the point of Isra Mi'raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Until now, Israel continues to colonize and oppress the Palestinians. Most recently, the Israeli military (IDF) is still waging genocide on the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. In fact, the world including the United Nations and the International Court of Justice has condemned the barbaric act.
“The Palestinian people are being killed slowly through the severing of water and other basic necessities by Israel,” Zuhair Al Shun said.
Therefore, he appealed for support to all parties, including Muhammadiyah, in helping to free the Palestinian people.
