REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SAMARINDA -- Director of Islamic Illumination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmad Zayadi delivered the 30th National Quran Tilawatil Musabaqah (MTQ) in 2024 in East Kalimantan Province and the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN), 8-16 September 2024, based on the results of the determination that 1,998 participants from 38 regions will be followed.
“The participants consisted of 1,587 core participants and 431 reserve participants,” Ahmad Zayadi said in a statement in Samarinda, some time ago.
He revealed that the participants of the MTQ competition consisted of the art of reading the Quran followed by 294 participants, qira'at Al Quran (160), Quran memorization (298), Tafsir Al Quran (125), Fahm Al Quran (195), and Sharah Quran (182).
Then there were 224 participants in the Quranic calligraphy art, 59 participants, and an exhibition of Quranic art of 10 participants.
Meanwhile, Bimas Islam Ministry Director General Kamaruddin Amin said one of the most important ecosystems in MTQ implementation is participation.
“Thank God we have managed to carry out identification and selection. God willing we appoint official participants who will compete in this very prestigious national MTQ event,” he said.
The Chairman of the National LPTQ also wished all MTQ participants who had been set to remain healthy until the implementation.
“We are very grateful that all the processes have been passed,” he said.
On that occasion, Kaltim Provincial Sekda Sri Wahyuni conveyed Kaltim's readiness to host the 30th National Level MTQ organizer.
“We are constantly updating regarding the needs and arrival of the caravan. We prepared a schedule for caravan pick-up at APT Pranoto Samarinda Airport, as well as Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan,” he explained.
He admitted that there are still areas that have not passed on information about the schedule of his arrival to Kaltim.
In addition, Sri Wahyuni also reported information on regional participation in the exhibition.
Because in addition to the MTQ exhibition, there was also an exhibition of halal food and cultural arts of the nation, which Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia also participated.
“There is also an international calligraphy exhibition that calligraphy artists from 50 countries will attend,” he said.
