REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Solo—Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP), Ahmad Dahlan Rais revealed that there are three major challenges in managing mines for Muhammadiyah. Ahmad said as a religious ormas one of the challenges was the absence of capital managing the mine.
According to him, for an ormas to manage a mine, a lot of funds are needed. “If one organization does not have capital, if one has capital, it is not small,” he said when he met the media crew at the UMS Edutorium on Tuesday (27/8/2024).
In addition to capital limitations, another challenge is the technology and know-how to manage the mine. Likewise with the experience to manage because according to him so far religious ormas are far from this.
“Both have no knowledge and technology, let alone details that are far from the fire. Three have no experience, where there is a religious body managing the mine, there is no one, it is actually spaced,” he said.
Referring to the former mines that would later be offered to Muhammadiyah, Ahmad said that all ormas get the same.
“Everything offered to religious bodies is second-hand, including (that offered to) NU also second-hand. Therefore we have to learn more that it offers it is entirely disused mines,” he said.
His party said Muhammadiyah wanted to manage mines that could benefit the surrounding communities. He also said he would restore the mine if the mudhorot was judged to be more than its yield.
“We will restore it, but let's not make a mistake in the form of more serious damage if we can repair it. It was decided to accept, but if the amount is greater, it will be returned,” he said.
It explained in order to answer the capital challenge it claimed to open up options for dues. While regarding knowledge about mines, it invited a number of experts and practitioners from a number of campuses.
“Yes, Muhammadiyah has relative potential, yes, for example, dues can. It has already started, we present from ITB UGM that also mine experts outside that in the field have learned a lot,” he said.
