REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BATAM -- Indonesian Honorary Consul in Milan, Italy, Jacopo Fusaia, said Indonesia's businessmen acquisition of Inter Football Club will have a positive impact to increase tourism and business cooperation between the two countries.
Since the Italian media widely discussed the intention of Erick Thohir to buy shares of Inter FC, there was an increasing Italian public attention to Indonesia side. The statement was conveyed in a press release of Indonesian Lovers Communities for Inter FC in Milan, Tuesday (22/10).
"Now the decision (to buy) has officially done, then I 'm sure there will be many things effected on both parties, especially in the fields of economy, business, tourism, and sports," he said.
Chairman of the Indonesia-Italy Association (PII), Ngajari Kaban, said that the purchase of the majority shares of one of the top football clubs will popularize the name of Indonesia as well as Italy.
He hoped future cooperation can be together established between PII, Indonesia Lovers Community for Inter FC, and the new owner of Inter FC.
Thus, he said, the present of Erick Thohir in the club can be benefitted to Indonesian communities in Milan particularly, and in Italy in general.
Erick Thohir together with Rosan Roeslani and Handy Soetedjo through International Sports Capital consortium on October, 15th officially acquired a 70 percent stake of Internazionale Holding, the owner of Inter Milan.
