REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WASHINGTON -- Authorities said Monday one person was dead and two others were injuried in a gunfire exchange at the gate of the US National Security Agency (NSA) headquarters at Fort Meade in Maryland, local media reported.
According to NBC news, a NSA guard reportedly got into quarrel with two men disguised as women who were trying to enter the facility Monday morning and they exchange fire at around 9:30 EDT (1330 GMT).
The guard reportedly shot at least one of the two men after the vehicle tried to ram the NSA gate. According to NBC, a gun and drugs were later found in the vehicle.
One of the two alleged intruders was found dead on scene.
From Chopper 4, emergency workers could be seen caring for an injuried uniformed man who was being loaded into an ambulance.
Fort Meade, a US Army installation, accommodates about 11,000 military personnel together with about 29,000 civilian employees.
